Brujas
Though Macbeth is essentially evil, Shakespeare does his best to make the audience think otherwise. For example, the murder of Duncan happens offstage, lessening the evilness of his actions.
The witches are something for the audience, and Macbeth to blame. They also throw the audience straight into the play, instead of fooling around in the King’s court or wherever. And they are also there for enjoyment. Who doesn’t love (or love to hate) the witches? Their sneaky methods, half truths and evil master add both a lighter and darker side to the play.
